Project Overview
Sunny Studios is a high-efficiency residential complex designed to maximize living potential within a constrained urban footprint. The project features a diverse set of seven distinct studio units: four single-level flats at the front and three two-story tiny house units at the rear. The entire ensemble is anchored by a central, shared courtyard that serves as a private oasis for the community.
Design Philosophy
The philosophy for Sunny Studios is: Collective Privacy. By utilizing a U-shaped architectural plan, the design shields the interior living spaces from the street, focusing instead on a central, sun-lit atrium. The goal was to prove that high-density living can still feel spacious, airy, and luxury-oriented through the use of clever vertical layering and shared outdoor amenities.
Technical Achievement
- Multi-Unit Spatial Puzzle: A complex manual layout that fits seven independent living cores—each with private access—into a single symmetrical lot without compromising structural flow.
- The Quad-and-Triad Balance: A unique architectural challenge involving the alignment of four front-facing studios with three rear-facing duplexes, maintaining a 100% mirrored facade from the street level.
- Integrated Social Atrium: The central courtyard is designed with a rhythmic placement of glass doors and balconies, ensuring every unit has a direct visual and physical connection to the building’s green heart.
