Project Overview
Foxbury Towers is a large-scale civic project that reimagines the traditional condominium as a formal Tower Square. This ensemble is a work of exterior stonemasonry and classical proportions, designed to evoke the grandeur of Renaissance-era European plazas. The project focuses on the monumental dialogue between the buildings and the public space they enclose.
Design Philosophy
The philosophy for Foxbury is: Symmetry of the Commons.
By placing four identical towers at the cardinal points of the lot, the architecture creates an enclosed, private piazza that feels both fortified and welcoming. The goal was to use heavy material weight—stone and brick—to ground a space that is otherwise defined by its airy, central colonnade.
Technical Achievement
- The Quad-Tower Axis: A rigorous manual alignment of four distinct structures to ensure that every balcony, window, and roofline is perfectly mirrored across both the horizontal and vertical axes of the site.
- Classical Colonnade Core: A central, circular pavilion featuring manually placed Greco-Roman columns and gold accents, serving as the delicate architectural heart of the heavy stone ensemble.
- Textural Masonry Layering: A meticulous application of gray stone and white marble-style trims that define the Renaissance silhouette, requiring hundreds of manual asset placements to achieve a realistic historic weathering effect.
